The Victron Orion-TR Smart 12/12-30A Isolated DC-DC Charger is a professional-grade DC to DC battery charger designed for dual battery systems in vehicles and boats. It allows a starter battery and alternator (including smart alternators) to safely and efficiently charge a 12V service battery, while maintaining full electrical isolation between input and output.

This charger features Bluetooth Smart built in, enabling full configuration and real-time monitoring through the free VictronConnect app. Charging parameters can be precisely tailored to suit both lead-acid and lithium batteries, ensuring optimal performance and long battery life.

Using an adaptive 3-stage charging algorithm (bulk, absorption, float), the Orion-TR Smart delivers fast, controlled charging while protecting battery health. An engine-running detection mechanism ensures charging only occurs when the alternator is active, preventing unwanted drain of the starter battery.

The unit includes a remote on/off terminal, allowing it to be controlled via ignition signal or an external switch. With short-circuit protection, IP43 ingress protection, and reliable operation at high ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, it is built for demanding automotive and marine environments. Full rated output is available up to 40 °C.
